If your looking for great food that is inexpensive- this is the place! One of the best Bbq me and my fiance have ever had! You can't go wrong with anything, but I do think their pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket and 1/2 chicken are the best! Sides are large and cheap to add. Apps are also large (corn nuggets are amazing). Side salads are great size and come with more than enough dressing which they provide on the side. Service is also very good. Same lady we see every time we are there... Very helpful, but doesn't hover. Must try for sure!

Hubby and I vacationed in Destin last week. We frequent the area most summers, but we had never seen 98 before. We got in after driving 17 hours and just wanted food! Being a two minute drive from our rental, we stopped in. There was only one other couple there, on a Saturday night which originally had me worried. But we were served immediately. We both had the brisket sandwich, mine with corn nuggets and hubby had the fries. It didn't look like much but dang, was it tasty. The brisket was moist and their spicy sauce complimented well. But the corn nuggets....oh the corn nuggets. So good! Sweet and fried, what's not to like? Even on vacation, we still keep a budget and this meal was definitely wallet friendly. Everything and drinks for $25. We will definitely be back next year!

We catered 98 BBQ to do a party we hosted while on vacation in Seaside. Jon and team were great to work with, even lowering my first request based on the numbers of people I gave him. We had some of almost every meat, and most of the sides and deserts. All were delicious, my favorites being the pulled pork and the beef brisket. Our party all commented on how good everything was, plus we had left overs for half of our vacation. Delivery was on time and well taken care of. Much appreciated and I would recommend them again.

I would give it 3.5 stars, if possible. We dropped in for a take out order and ordered the following: 1 lb. of brisket- meat was good, but it was over cooked and dry. The rub and sauce on this meat (and others) was too sweet for my personal taste. My wife liked it. 1lb. of pulled pork- Thought this was good, a tad greasy, but overall good, especially with the sauce. 1lb. of pulled chicken- I thought this was the best of all. Again, it was a tad greasy but the smoked flavor was excellent. Perfect with some hot sauce. We bought this for lunch and ate off it for 2 days after! Overall- this was a nice stop and good take away. Staff was friendly and service was quick.

Always such great food and service. The family dinner for 4 feeds our family of six and we still take home leftovers. Ribs and pork are great especially with their hot bbq sauce. I always come here when in destin and tell all my friends

Best bbq around. Flavorful and the bark is good and crunchy. Their spicy bbq sauce is the best although all their sauces are good. Prices are a little higher than they should be but it doesn't stop me from coming.

98 Bar-B-Que was our backup plan since our first choice BBQ spot was closed, and we were pleasantly surprised. We left with a variety of pulled pork, chicken salad, baked beans, potato salad, and fried okra. Standouts were the baked beans (slight kick), fried okra, and the pulled pork tips the scale toward notable. The chicken salad has great flavor, but is a bit to creamy/rich for my taste, and I can't say I'm a big fan of the strong ranch flavoring in the potato salad. Both the spicy and the sweet BBQ sauces were quite good, and the pie I saw heading out the door on our way in looked pretty darn good. Overall, a strong contender for a repeat visit.

Absolutely the best BBQ in Destin. We drive 30 minutes just to eat here when we vacation here. Servers are very friendly and will never let your glass go empty. You have to try the Family Dinner for 4! I am a mom of 3 boys and along with my husband that makes 5 of us. We still had to bring home a to-go box. The full slab of ribs and the half chicken had such a great smoke taste and the pulled pork was great. Then you get to choose two sides to go with your 3 meats, fries, and texas toast. You can't go wrong with the fried okra or the onion rings. Our meal literally filled up 3 café trays pilled high. The only thing I wish I could change would be for them to serve Coke instead of Pepsi products. Other than that they are great!

Friendly service right when we walked in, smelled deliciously perfect! They have wooden tables lending even more to the BBQ feel. They have a few tvs to watch sports while you dine. I decided to start with a cold beer and wings based on previous reviews. The wings are outstanding, get them. The rib tips were on sale so it was hard to pass up. They are incredible! Juicy and saucy, everything you want in your BBQ. Went with the potato salad and fried okra for my sides and I was not disappointed. I'm from Houston and they have amazing BBQ but this place is in that group, and that's no lie. If you're in this area and want some BBQ, come here!

The folks working there couldn't be nicer - we felt very welcome from the moment we got there. The best items we had were the wings (with hot BBQ sauce - not very hot) and the fries. The brisket sandwich was pretty good, and the pulled chicken sandwich was under seasoned/a bit meh. Prices reasonable, convenient to our house in Santa Rosa and overall satisfactory if you just need that BBQ fix.

I am from Texas and am considered a pit master . This is crap. I would be embarrassed to serve this crap to a Helens person. I ordered the brisket plate and wife got the 4 bone ribs . The ribs were tough and no flavor. Brisket was so over cooked it came out in a crumbled pile of tasteless meat. The manager took the food back and brought out "fresh" good but it was just as bad. He said they used to buy their bar be but now cook it out back. I appreciate the effort but bad food doesn't get better with good service! Never going back.

We were looking for a place to grab lunch and I am so glad that we found this restaurant. The service is fast and friendly right off the bat. Our food was ready in around 15 minutes and was absolutely delicious. They have the best potato salad I have ever eaten. I definitely recommend trying this place out of you're in the area.

This is a small locally-owned BBQ spot in Santa Rosa that's in close proximity to 30-A. It has a bit of a sports bar feel and lots of TV's for watching The Game, but they don't play around when it comes to their 'Q. The portions are big, the prices very affordable and the staff is very polite. The place is much bigger than you'd think looking at it from the street, and they have old-school shuffleboard! I'll definitely be back.

The corn nuggets were good, however everything else was not. Got the beef brisket plate. The portions were large, but the meat was dry and had no flavor. They sprinkled some seasoning salt over the meat, which was already dry which just made it worse. The onion rings were the standard frozen out of a bag...nothing special. The potato salad tasted like it might have gone bad so I didn't finish it. The staff was very friendly, however with so many other choices down here, probably won't go back.

Out of the way if you are staying in Destin but well worth the trip. Oversized portions and excellent BBQ. Family friendly and wonderful service. Living in TX and now in the Midwest, we love and know our BBQ. And this was right up there with the good stuff. The potato salad was light and creamy and a great side and the Bread Pudding was a family favorite. Will return to eat here on our next trip to Destin.

Wow, what a great find this was! We ordered to go for a house full staying in Grayton and the "feast" did the trick and then some. I'm always a bit nervous with first time BBQ without a friend's recommendation but this was winner winner chicken dinner! Brisket was excellent, ribs were great, sauce was excellent and didn't overwhelm the meat flavor. We didn't even get into the chicken as there was so much for a very reasonable price. The fried okra was perfect. This is in a strip mall so you have to watch closely or you'll never see it. Absolutely worth looking for though!

Ate at restaurant instead of take out, very friendly waitress, food great, got rib tips special, had to take some home, waitress told us about bread pudding which I'd never had, OMG the hot praline sauce was incredible. I want to make at home for ice cream. So glad we tried!

Absolutely the best potato salad and pulled chicken I've ever had!!! Every thing is first rate and the service is spot on. Gumbo is delish. All the Bbq sauces are homemade and the service is top notch. Gotta try the BBQ nachos on Thurs. This place has everything u need for all ur BBQ desires. Laid back and low key. Not ur fly by night place. Here to stay and gonna cater to all ur local needs and wants.

Great food! Not overly BBQ with sauce dripping like some other places. There are sauces on the table for you to add (which we needed to). Meals are large enough for leftovers the next day. Waitress was super good. Kept our pops refilled without us having to ask and even offered "to-go" drinks. Delicious and definitely recommend for other vacationers. Casual stress-code. The waitresses wore shorts/tshirts themselves. Had a few TVs on for sports. Could easily take a party of 10-15 people here if you needed. We went on a Wednesday evening. Approx $75 for 4 main dishes, 4 pops (refilled over & over & over), and tip. If you have lighter eaters, just split a meal. There is plenty.

Great service and food. Everyone was kind and helpful. The pulled pork was delicious. The ribs were good, but I would get just the pulled pork next time. I got mine dry, which is nice to have as an option the fries were fresh cut, the rest of the table tried the corn nuggets and loved them. My husband said he could have had just corn nuggets for a meal. Prices were reasonable and portions were generous without being too much. I will be returning.

My daughter was getting married on a beach nearby. We needed to feed 70 people for a welcome reception a few days before the wedding. I called up 98 BBQ and they were extremely helpful with recommendations. For a small fee they delivered all the food and beverages and set it up with using hot and cold trays. It made for a perfect setting. A few hours later he was back and had it all cleaned up and in To go containers for us. Now about the food... Everything was amazing!!! We had pulled chicken and pulled pork, chicken and sausage gumbo, my favorite, baked beans, Mac and cheese, coleslaw,potato salad. It appealed to everyone's taste. Many went back for thirds. We had a sheet a banana pudding and one of bread pudding. I loved the bread pudding- it was awesome!!!but that's only because I have a secret banana pudding recipe that my friends and family love. So needless to say- they weren't fooled when I tried to serve someone else's. It was still delicious just not the same. Jon was great to work with, the food was delicious and all at a great price. Win win all around!

The Bar-B-Que flavor was unique, we asked for seconds on the potato salad and the beans were excellent. The atmosphere is somewhat loud and we were seated right next to the register and had to listen to the cashier sharing with other customers rather openly, as if no one else was in the restaurant. We got bread pudding to go and the heating instructions were listed for both the pudding and sauce in the servers own handwriting on the outside of the bag. That was nice.

This BBQ was the best we've had in a long time. Shredded Pork and BBQ Chicken were fantastic and lots of it. The sides which included Corn nuggets, French fires, cole slaw were all homemade and wonderful. We had all this as take out. WOW!!

We got the family feast. It was excellent. It fed 7 of us for two days. My boys devoured the ribs and my husband loved the brisket. Fried okra was still hot and crispy even after driving home with the food. More fries than we could eat. Love this place!

Food was sub-par at best. Had to wait 5 minutes for a table and there was multiple open tables. Had to wait 20 minutes for our Togo order. Granted this was on 4th of July so they were very busy but you could tell they were not prepared for this. Ribs were chewy and had no BBQ taste. It was almost like they were just dethawed and thrown on the grill. Brisket was extremely undercooked and had no smoke flavor to it at all. The brisket had no flavor whatsoever. The pulled chicken sandwich had a ton of fat in it and was mostly all dark meat. The pulled pork was by far the best thing.

Got bbq on a takeout order for 4 people. Had to wait 15-20 min, which is fine, i prefer the order done well & correctly, and we had a lot of food. Servers & kitchen took care of inhouse customers very well and all looked happy Got home, nice ribs & brisket, sauces were tasty, overall a nice bbq experience. We will be back!
